Money and Productivity

Scientist said that Tuesday is the most productive day in a week while Monday and Friday are the contrary. It is because on Tuesday people already adaptive with the work rhythm after on Monday they still try to adapt the pace after they spent holiday on Saturday and Sunday and on Friday they tend to not focus because of the weekend euphoria. But what the productivity is all about? Apparently everybody has their own definition. Someone said that productive means finish all the job and other people said that productive is doing something except only laydown and waste the time, it doesn’t matter whether the job is done or not.

Definition of Productive in KBBI is capable to produce something (in large number). It is clearly that productive more to result than process. Even thought process is the essential thing that bring a lot of learning that important for our life. Many people chase to be call as productive person, bring as many as result they want and as fast as possible without concern about the process so they did the wrong way and lose the important learning of the process.

Society associate productive with money, the being called productive if they can earn a lot of money. Maybe because productive means we produce something and that creation can be sell and earn money. Even thought sweeping the room, ironing or cooking breakfast can also being called productive although the result is not money but it is can make us comfortable and happy

In the work live, companies always encourage their employees to be productive. Obviously it is about profit. Unproductive employee will certainly have bad effect on the company’s sustainability, so maintaining employee productivity is an important thing that companies must do. What are the factors that effects employee productivity?

1. Wages and bonuses

The good system and amount of wages and bonuses are important to maintain productivity. As people say, money can’t buy happiness but money can buy us video game which is pretty much the same thing. Couldn’t agree more, money can motivate us.

2. Age

The older person less productive than the younger. It is correlate with physic ability.

3. Communication

Communication between peers and the boss is one of the most important thing to maintain productivity. Lack communication in office can lead to demotivation.

4. Weather

Weather also play important role in productivity. Bad weather makes people vulnerable to illness and lead to tiredness. Bad body condition can decrease productivity

However, we do not completely have to rely on what external can offer to us to maintain productivity. As individuals, we also have to strive to be productive by looking way that suit our taste and motivation because everyone has their own tastes and motivation
